Fairmont State University strives to offer an exceptional, transformative education at a reasonable price. We keep our tuition and fees low for in-state West Virginia students, and our rates for out-of-state students are lower than those of many other states’ public and private colleges and universities.

You can find information on our undergraduate and graduate tuition and fees below. Financial aid and scholarships are available if you need help paying for your education.

Tuition, Fees, Room and Meal Plans change on a yearly basis. Your personal expenses may be higher or lower than our estimated costs below. Our goal is to estimate realistic costs to allow our students to receive the maximum amount of financial aid assistance.

Financial Aid and Scholarships

The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships assists full-time and part-time students in achieving their educational goals by promoting scholarships, grants, work programs and loans. You must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at fafsa.gov in order to be considered for financial aid. 

Tuition and fees are based on full-time enrollment (12 or more credit hours), attending classes on the main campus; room and meal plan fees are based on a double occupancy and a 15-meal plan; books and supplies costs are based on an average student schedule. Cost of Attendance

The Estimated Cost of Attendance includes direct and indirect educational expenses for a full-time student during the fall and spring semesters. Direct costs are those paid to the university, such as tuition and fees. Indirect costs are other expenses you may have, such as rent or books and supplies.
