Student Government is a great way to become involved on campus and in the community. You can help shape school policies and provide needed services to fellow students and the community. Additionally, we have a lot of fun, and it is a great way to get involved! Students involved in student organizations tend to do better in school – It’s a fact!
Students enrolled in at least 12 credit hours this semester. Students must have a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA at the time of their nomination unless there is no credit hour requirement for the position.
Students are welcome to participate in all SGA events and attend our weekly meetings. The SGA encourages students to become involved with the issues or with SGA event planning. Meetings are held in Hardway Hall 128 at 12:30 pm.. each Thursday during the academic year.
The SGA has several committees that help do the work of the body. These include the Committee on Finance, Committee on Rules, Legislative Affairs, and Civic Engagement, Committee on Senior Campaign, and the Committee on Campus Engagement. Ad hoc committees may be established at the will of the Student Body President such as the Homecoming Committee.
You can also stay informed by checking the SGA website for updates and announcements.
