Our current version of Blackboard is Blackboard Learn 9.1. Blackboard Learn is Fairmont State’s online learning management system that allows instructors to build course content, grade assignments, collaborate with students, and communicate as a class or individually.
Respondus LockDown Browser™ is a custom browser that locks down the testing environment within Blackboard. When students use Respondus LockDown Browser, they are unable to print, copy, go to another URL, or access other applications. When an assessment begins, students are locked into it until they submit it for grading.
Respondus is a software tool that can be used to create quizzes and exams offline in the Windows environment and then printed or published directly to Blackboard.
Respondus Monitor works with the LockDown Browser. It uses a student's webcam to record the assessment session. Respondus Monitor enables online exams to be taken in non-proctored environments and deters students from accessing other resources during an exam (such as a phone, a second computer, etc.). It also ensures the right student is taking the exam, and that the student isn't getting help from others.

All Fairmont State students, faculty, and staff have a free online Office 365 account. This account provides an email account, online storage, as well as access to the various online MS Office 365 applications (i.e., MS Word, MS Excel, etc.), which are all conveniently accessed from a single interface available wherever and whenever you need it.
The MyBusinessCourse tool enables instructors to embed content directly into their Blackboard course.
The Safe Assign plagiarism tool makes it easy to identify students who submit unoriginal work, and also acts as a powerful deterrent to stop plagiarism before it starts.

This guide was designed to help with the formatting of syllabuses, course descriptions, outlines, etc., for Blackboard documents. These are basic HTML codes that will allow you to format a document to be viewed over the Internet easily.
StudyMate Class, a companion tool to Respondus, is a tool that can be used to create learning objects, practice quizzes, and unscored exams.
NOTE: The no-install software can be downloaded onto a flash drive and carried from computer to computer.
