Fairmont State University invites prospective students to Spring Maroon & White Day
Fairmont State University prepares to welcome prospective students to campus for spring Maroon & White Day on Saturday, April 15.
Fairmont State hosts its large-scale, on-campus open house every fall and spring where traditional and non-traditional students and their families are invited to explore the University’s offerings.
“Maroon & White Day is such an exciting time here on campus,” said Assistant Vice President of Enrollment and Student Life Alicia Kalka. “Taking those next steps in your college journey is a big deal, and Maroon & White Day is designed so we can help those who may have questions and make them feel more confident as they begin this journey.”
Check-in for the event begins at 9 a.m. in the Falcon Center. Guests can enjoy breakfast while waiting for the welcome message and introduction of the academic deans at 10 a.m. in Falcon Center Gym 1. Following introductions, Fairmont State University Interim President Dianna Phillips will provide the keynote address. “Falcon Q&A”, a parent and student discussion panel, will occur immediately following the keynote at 11 a.m.
Prospective students and their families will also have the opportunity to participate in various activities throughout the day including an Academic and Student Organization Fair and campus tours. Students who participate in the Academic and Student Organization Fair will receive a punch card. Those who visit at least 5 of the booths and get their card punched will be entered into a giveaway drawing for a Stanley tumbler or a one-time $500 scholarship.
Additionally, information sessions will be held in the Falcon Center conference rooms throughout the day. These sessions will highlight topics like the nursing program, the honors program, financial aid, housing, student life, and more.
“Being able to meet future Falcons face-to-face during Maroon & White Day is a wonderful experience,” said Director of Admissions Summer Boggess. “There is so much to explore and so much opportunity here at Fairmont State, and having the chance to show that to so many people in person is an amazing thing.”
