School of Nursing ranked in top RN to BSN Programs by RegisteredNursing.org

May 19, 2020

Fairmont State University has been ranked No. 2 for the Best Online RN to BSN Program in West Virginia by RegisteredNursing.org.

RegisteredNursing.org works to provide students with information to help make the right choice for them when selecting a nursing program. They build a database of nursing programs for all degree levels and specializations across the country and then filter out programs.

Rankings are based on institutions that are accredited, offer online programs, annual tuition and fee, acceptance rate, graduate rate, and ratio of total nurse program completions versus the total program completions awarded by the institution.

Dr. Laura Clayton, associate dean for the School of Nursing said rankings such as this continue to highlight the efforts of the nursing faculty to continuously prepare the students for the move into their career field.

“This ranking shows the commitment of the nursing faculty to provide an innovative program that is designed for the working RNs, while still maintaining the rigor and high standards that we are known for,” she said. “The program allows RNs to advance their degree while applying didactic concepts in their work environments that are aimed at improving outcomes within the healthcare delivery system.”

Fairmont State President Dr. Mirta Martin said the ranking highlights the University’s intent to continue soaring to new heights.

“Our School of Nursing is filled with dedicated, caring teacher-mentors who not only deliver an unrivaled educational experience, but they also inspire our students all the way through program completion, and help them find rewarding careers upon graduation,” she said. “This recognition by RegisteredNursing.org is a well-deserved symbol of that commitment and expertise.”
