Future Falcons have $500 scholarship opportunity at Soar Awards

Fairmont State University will be providing $500 scholarships to hundreds of students across the state during the Third Annual Soar Awards. 

Events will be held in Fairmont, St. Albans, Parkersburg, Oak Hill, Inwood, and Wheeling. The scholarships will aid in attending Fairmont State even more affordable and serves as a reminder of the Unviersity’s dedication to student success. 

The program has continued to expand since the inaugural year in 2018 when nearly 200 students received scholarships. The expansion is to allow more opportunites for students both in-state and out-of-state. 

During the event, students will be able to spend time with President Dr. Mirta Martin, who will share about how being a first-generation college graduate and college transformed her life. Recruitment staff will also be available to meet with students to answer qestions about admissions and life at Fairmont State. Faculty and staff will be on hand to talk with students about their areas of interest and how Fairmont State’s hands-on learning experience that will prepare them for rewarding careers.
