Jazz Ensemble Presents Free Concert

The Fairmont State University Department of Music, Fairmont State Jazz Ensemble and the Fairmont State Jazz Improvisation class will present a free concert at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, May 2 in the Wallman Hall Auditorium on the campus of Fairmont State. The concert is free and open to the public. 

Performing works include the Library of Thad Jones/Mel Lewis, Count Basie, Stevie Wonder, and the pen of Roy Hargrove. Under the direction of Neil L. King, Assistant Professor of Music and Conductor of the Jazz Ensemble, students featured in the Jazz Ensemble include, Brendan Bennet (Alto 1), Preston Testa (Ten 1), Chase Hawkins (Ten 2), Charles Singleton (Bari), Justin Shaffer (Trombone 1 and 2), Logan Singledecker (Trombone 1&2), Tyler Carson (Bass Trombone), Thomas Galvert (Trumpet), Rebekah Ramsey (Trumpet), William Johnston (Trumpet), Sarah Collett (Piano), Noah Sutton (Bass), Kyle Stevens (Guitar), and Devin Hayes (Drums).
