Egg Drop competition to be held April 7 to support Learning Options, Inc.

Apr 03, 2019

In conjunction with Fairmont State University, Learning Options, Inc. will be holding their First Annual Egg Drop competition on Sunday, April 7, 2019, from 2 to 4 p.m. The fundraiser will be held in Gym 2 of the Falcon Center. All proceeds will benefit Learning Options, Inc., an educational nonprofit based in Fairmont, WV that provides enrichment activities to local school-age children.

This fun, hands-on science event will provide opportunities for the whole family to participate. Competitors will create protective packaging to prevent their raw egg from becoming an unfixable Humpty Dumpty as it is dropped from ever-increasing heights.

Prizes will be awarded in each category to the person or group that best protects their egg from damage during a series of drops. Prizes will also be awarded for creative design.

Learning Options, Inc. welcomes teams and individuals in three age categories: 8 to 11, 12 to 14, and 15 to adult. Registration is required and will cost $10 for an individual or $20 for a team of up to 4 members. There will be additional activities on-site for all ages including raffle items, face painting, and a visit from the Easter Bunny.

Check in at the Learning Options, Inc. website, www.learningoptionsinc.org, to find details about the event as they are released, including tips to prepare for the competition and a link to register.

Additionally, the organization is looking for individuals to help set up for the event, register participants and teams, sell raffle tickets, assist with Easter-themed activities on the side, and clean up afterward. By donating your time for this fundraiser, you can help make a difference. Register to volunteer online at www.volunteermarion.org.
