Nature of West Virginia Life: Presidential Lecture Planned for Oct. 25

Dr. Stephen B. Jones, interim president at Fairmont State University, will present his lecture “Nature of West Virginia Life” at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, at the West Virginia Folklife Center.

 A forester and doctoral level applied ecologist by education, Jones believes that every lesson for living, learning, serving, and leading is either written indelibly in or is powerfully inspired by Nature. He will speak to harnessing the power, passion and wisdom of Nature.

Jones will relate stories from his two books: Nature Based Leadership (2016) and Nature-Inspired Learning and Leading (2017). He is completing a third, Harnessing Nature’s Power and Wisdom in Service to Life and Enterprise.

Midway through his six-month term at FSU as an interim president, Jones will also share his thoughts and reflections about Fairmont State and the greater Fairmont community.

Light refreshments will follow the lecture.
