FSU Participates in Empty Bowls Marion County
Fairmont State University ceramic students, alumni, staff and faculty have created several hundred handmade bowls for this year’s Empty Bowls Marion County.
The 2016 Empty Bowls luncheon is scheduled for noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 17, at the Fairmont Knights of Columbus. Tickets are $15 and include a handcrafted bowl and a meal. Tickets for children are $5 and that price does not include a bowl. Tickets are available for purchase at the Sobrania Soup Opera, Salvation Army, United Way of Marion County office and Connecting Link. Proceeds will benefit the Sobrania Soup Opera and the Salvation Army.
This year’s FSU participating artists include Kylie Ford, James Jesmer, Takawira Ushendibaba, David Cox, Jennifer Yerdon-LeJeune, Kat Stevens, Carolyn Crislip-Tacy and Jeff Greenham.
The Empty Bowls Project is an international, grassroots, crafts-based effort to end hunger. For more information about the event, call (304) 366-4550 or e-mail nicky@uwmarion.org.
