School of Business Hosts SBA InnovateHER Business Challenge
The Fairmont State University School of Business has been selected as the West Virginia host for the SBA InnovateHER Business Challenge.
“Although the InnovateHer Business Challenge was designed to operate with a tight timeline, it is a great opportunity to help launch innovative products and services that could positively impact and empower the lives of women and families,” said Gina Fantasia, Director of the University Business Center, FSU School of Business.
InnovateHER provides an opportunity for entrepreneurs to showcase products or services that could have a measurable impact on the lives of women and families (30 percent), have the potential for commercialization (40 percent), and fill a need in the marketplace (30 percent).
Any interested entrepreneur and innovator must submit the application package by 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 25. For rules and an application form, visit www.fairmontstate.edu/schoolofbusiness.
The judges will select and submit one local winner to the SBA by Wednesday, April 1. The SBA will then identify no more than 10 national finalists. Finalists will make a live pitch to a panel of expert judges during National Small Business Week, May 4 through 8, 2015, in Washington, D.C., where they will compete for top three awards and prize money totaling $30,000.
