Donate Items to "Fill the Nest" Campaign This Week
Fairmont State University will recognize West Virginia Day to Serve through Saturday, Sept. 28, by asking faculty, staff and the greater community to “Fill the Nest!”
The Nest is the official food bank to benefit students of Fairmont State University and Pierpont Community & Technical College. Check out this link for information on items needed: www.fairmontstate.edu/stulife/student-government/nest-student-food-bank
There are two donation drop-off points planned:
- Through the week of Sept. 23, you may donate items for The Nest at the Circulation Desk at the Ruth Ann Musick Library.
- On Saturday, Sept. 28, bring your donated items to Duvall-Rosier Field to see the Fighting Falcons take on WV State. Kickoff is at 1 p.m.
Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin has charged West Virginia residents to volunteer and give back to their communities as part of Day to Serve, the second annual call to service for residents of Virginia, Maryland, D.C. and West Virginia.
“Join your fellow West Virginians in improving the lives of others through celebrating West Virginia Day to Serve,” said Amy V. Drvar, Assistant Director of Career Development and Civic Engagement Coordinator. "Please spread the word to students who may need help that The Nest at the Ruth Ann Musick Library is available as a resource to them."
