Guest Composer to Offer April 5 Performance

Apr 01, 2013

Mark Snyder, guest composer/performer for the Fairmont State University School of Fine Arts, will perform an evening of his own music at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 5, in Room 229 of Wallman Hall.

Snyder, currently a Professor of Music at Mary Washington University in Fredricksburg, Va., frequently performs in venues throughout the United States and will be touring Europe with his ensemble this summer. Snyder’s music is ambient, rich and full of spacious melody. He performs on instruments as diverse as tuba, clarinet and accordion accompanied by video projection to create an engaging performance environment. Performing with Snyder will be harpist Becky Brown, who will lend her ethereal sound to this beautiful sonic environment.

Admission to the concert is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Dr. Daniel Eichenbaum at deichenbaum@fairmontstate.edu and visit Mark Snyder’s web site: marklsnyder.com.
