Students Can Take Bus to WVIAC Championships on March 2

Mar 02, 2013

Fairmont State University students have an opportunity to ride a 55-passenger bus to Charleston today, March 2, to watch the Fighting Falcons men's and women's basketball teams compete in WVIAC Championship games.

The bus leaves at 10 a.m. from the parking lot beside Duvall-Rosier Field. Students should arrive at 9:30 a.m.; seats are first-come, first-served. There is no cost for riding the bus, but students will need to bring $5 for game tickets.

The Fairmont State Men's Basketball Team got past Alderson-Broaddus in overtime, 75-74, on Friday to advance to the WVIAC Tournament Championship today at the Charleston Civic Center. Isaac Thornton hit a free throw with .9 seconds remaining and an A-B desperation three wouldn’t fall to wrap up the FSU victory.

The Falcons will face the winner of the West Liberty-Alderson Broaddus game today; tip is set for 3:30 p.m.

The Fairmont State Women's Basketball Team will play for the 2013 WVIAC Championship today after picking up a 71-63 victory over West Liberty on Friday afternoon at the Charleston Civic Center Coliseum.

The Falcons will play Seton Hill today at 1 p.m. for the conference championship.
