Jan 31, 2013

The Fairmont State University Acrobatics and Tumbling team is ready to hit the mat for its third season competing in the National Collegiate Acrobatics and Tumbling Association (NCATA). The NCATA is comprised of Azusa Pacific University, Baylor University, Fairmont State, Quinnipiac University and the University of Oregon.

The season kicks off with a home meet in the Joe Retton Arena of the Feaster Center at Fairmont State at 4 p.m. Feb. 10 against the Baylor Bears from Waco, Texas. Admission is $5 for the general public and free for students at Fairmont State and Pierpont Community & Technical College with ID.

“We are excited to open our season against the Baylor Bears. Our athletes have been working hard in the weight room and at practice to be prepared for the season,” said Acrobatics and Tumbling Head Coach Kristi Kiefer.

Six new Falcons are on the roster this season, but there remains a high level of experience on the team. To view the team roster, visit http://www.fightingfalcons.com/acrobatic/roster/. The Fairmont State team competes against Division I universities at their facilities such as University of Oregon’s Mathew Knight Arena.
