FSU to Host Engineering and Science Challenge
Fairmont State University’s College of Science and Technology will host the fifth annual Engineering and Science Challenge on Friday, Sept. 21.
More than 550 students from 15 West Virginia high schools are registered to attend. Participating high schools are Doddridge County High School, East Fairmont High School, Elkins High School, Grafton High School, Magnolia High School, Morgantown High School, North Marion High School, Paden City High School, Parkersburg High School, Paw Paw High School, Robert C. Byrd High School, South Harrison High School, St. Mary’s High School, University High School and Valley High School.
Students who attended the event will participate in a wide array of hands-on challenges designed to foster critical thinking, problem solving, teamwork and to introduce potential challenges faced by scientists and engineers. The events are designed around career areas in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics and provide insight to the programs offered at the College of Science & Technology. At the end of the day, one school will be awarded the “Traveling Trophy.” Last year’s winner was Parkersburg High School.
