Blue Jean Ball to Benefit Fairmont Fund
By enjoying hot apple cider by a campfire, browsing a silent auction, sharing a meal with friends and dancing to music by a local band, those who attend the second annual Blue Jean Ball will be assisting Fairmont State University students.
The FSU Office of Institutional Advancement will host the second annual Blue Jean Ball on Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Colebank Hall gym and patio. The evening will begin with a social hour at 5 p.m. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. Entertainment will feature live music by the Johnny Freak Band, a local alumni band.
The event is one of several initiatives being planned to support the newly created Fairmont Fund. The Fairmont Fund supports immediate needs, improvements and updates to enhance educational opportunities in programs across campus. Technology updates, research opportunities, travel opportunities, lab equipment and new classrooms are just a few examples on our list of fundraising initiatives.
“I am very passionate about the Fairmont Fund because the dollars raised are put to immediate use in areas with the greatest need. I’d like to encourage all proud Falcons to dress up their favorite blue jeans and come out to enjoy the evening,” said Jessica Spatafore, Annual Fund Coordinator. “With your support, we can keep Fairmont State on the cutting edge of education.”
The cost to attend is $50 per person. Table sponsorships are available for $500, including eight seats and recognition in the program. (Per IRS rules, $25 per person of each reservation fee will be non-tax deductible.) Due to limited seating, those who would like to attend are asked to RSVP on or before Sept. 21 by calling the Office of Institutional Advancement at (304) 367-4009 or by visiting www.fairmontpierpontfoundation.org.
