International Festival on Campus Week of April 9
An International Festival is planned this week on the shared main campus of Fairmont State University and Pierpont Community & Technical College. The events are organized by the Office of International Student Services, International Student Organization, Student Government and the International Education Committee.
The week of events kicks off Monday, April 9, with an International Film Marathon in the Ruth Ann Musick Library. "Whale Rider" will be shown at 5 p.m. in Multi-media Room A, and "Ghandhi" will be shown at 7 p.m. On Tuesday, April 10, there will be a Tastes of the World event from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the second floor Main Street area of the Falcon Center, featuring the West Virginia University Brazilian Music Ensemble.
On Wednesday, April 11, at 12:30 p.m., there will be an international flag raising ceremony at the Bryant Street entrance to campus. A Global Forum is planned for 12:30 p.m. Thursday, April 12, in the Falcon Center Conference Room 1. A Cultural Identity Workshop will take place from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, April 12, in the Falcon Center Conference Room 1. The week of celebration will conclude on Friday, April 13, with a Night of Dance and Music in Colebank Hall Gym. Doors open for the event at 6:30 p.m., and music, dance and a fashion show will be from 7-9 p.m.
