Women's Swimming Team Earns Academic Award
Fairmont State's women's swimming team has been named a Scholar All-America Team by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).
To qualify as a CSCAA Scholar All-America squad, teams must post a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the previous semester. Fairmont State had a team grade-point average of 3.12. The Falcons were one of 34 teams in NCAA Division II to qualify for the recognition.
"We strive for excellence in all areas of our program, so we are very pleased to be a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team," said head coach Pat Snively. "It's obviously a challenge to balance their efforts as a student and athlete, so it's gratifying to see our team be recognized for all of their hard work in the classroom."
