Welcome Reception for International Students Set for Sept. 1

The Office of International Student Services will host a Welcome Reception for International Students at the shared main campus of Fairmont State University and Pierpont Community & Technical College from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, in the Falcon Center third floor conference rooms.

International students will be officially welcomed to the community by Dr. Doreen Larson, Pierpont President: Dr. Christina Lavorata, Interim Provost of FSU; Dr. Quentin Johnson, Senior Vice President of Enrollment and Student Services; and Geneva Hines, Director of the Office of International Student Services.

Faculty, staff and students of FSU and Pierpont will be invited to become members of the campus-wide support community for international students, the International Friends Program.

“By coming to this reception, you will have the opportunity to meet international students, hear their life stories and even become friends with or a supportive mentor for them,” said Dr. Tadashi Kato, advisor, International Students Organization. “Please come and join us in our celebration of the internationalization of our community and to help international students feel welcome here.”
