Emily Swain Named Director of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving
Fairmont State University has named Emily Swain as Director of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving.
For the past year she has served as Interim Director of Alumni Relations. Prior to that appointment, she served as a Program Coordinator for the Office of Institutional Advancement. She has assisted in the planning and execution of numerous alumni and athletic events and facilitates activities for the Fairmont State Alumni Association. Swain is a Fairmont State alumna, graduating in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with a specialization in Library Science, and is a former member of the Fighting Falcons softball team.
“Emily has helped strengthen connections among multiple generations of proud Fairmont State alumni, and I know she will actively seek and make opportunities to engage alumni in Fairmont State’s mission and various activities,” said FSU Interim President Maria Rose. “Emily brings enthusiasm and dedication to this position that is evidence of her love for her alma mater.”
As part of her position, Swain will help increase revenue and expand the communications potential of the alumni and annual fund programs. She will develop programs for the Fairmont State Alumni Association to build membership and will implement new alumni relations initiatives.
“As a former student and athlete, I know firsthand the difference that the Fairmont State experience can make in someone’s life. I am proud to be a Falcon and look forward to helping alumni reconnect and become more engaged with this university that we all love,” Swain said.
Swain and her husband Matt reside in Fairmont with their son Jeffrey. Matt Swain, who is also a Fairmont State alumnus, is a police officer with the campus Department of Public Safety.
