Auditions Planned for "Annie Get Your Gun"

Auditions are planned for the Fairmont State University Town & Gown Summer Theatre production of Irving Berlin’s “Annie Get Your Gun,” which will be presented in July at Prickett’s Fort State Park.

Auditions are planned for 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 22, and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, May 23, with possible callbacks from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 24. Rehearsals will begin the week of May 23.

Dr. John O’Connor will be the director of the show, with John Morrison as music director and Sarah Young as choreographer. Performance dates will be July 8-10 and 14-16.

Auditions will take place in Room 229 of Wallman Hall on the main campus. Those who would like to participate in the music audition should prepare two contrasting pieces, a ballad and an up-tempo piece, 16-24 bars each, and should bring sheet music. An accompanist will be provided. Those who would like to participate in the acting audition will be provided cold reading material from the libretto. Those who would like to participate in the dance audition should wear comfortable clothes and sensible shoes. All those who audition are asked to bring a headshot and resume and should call Susan Bailey at (304) 367-4203 to make an audition appointment.

Roles are available for those ages 8 and older. Company members of “Aristocats and the Fabulous Fable Factory” are welcome and encouraged to audition.
