Students and Faculty Create Ceramic Bowls to Donate to Empty Bowls Project

For the fourth year in a row, Fairmont State University students and faculty participated in the national Empty Bowls Project, which is an international grassroots, craft-based effort to end hunger.

Andrea Baisden, Carolyn Crislip-Tacy, Felicia Harper, Erin Kuehn, Jennifer Yerdon LeJeune, Nick LeJeune, Suzanne Moore and Jeff Greenham created more than 50 handmade ceramic bowls for this year’s regional project in Morgantown. The bowls were donated for soup luncheons that raise funds for local food pantries. Luncheon participants kept their bowl, and all profits go to local food pantries.

The Empty Bowls Luncheon in North Central West Virginia took place from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, at the Mylan Park Expo Center in Morgantown. For more information, visit http://www.emptybowlsmon.org/ or http://www.emptybowls.net/.
