March 9 Concert Highlights "Things That Go Bump in the Night"
The Fairmont State University Wind Ensemble will present an unusual concert, “Things That Go Bump in the Night,” conducted by Valarie Huffman and Matthew Schoonmaker,on Wednesday, March 9, at 8 p.m. in Wallman Hall Theatre on the main campus.
This concert of atmospheric music with a dark cast, will consist of the following pieces: “Ghost Dances” by Roland Barrett; “Our Yesterdays Lengthen Like Shadows” by Samuel R. Hazo; “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” by Andrew Boysen, Jr.; “Night Dances” by Bruce Yurko; “Stone Ghosts” by Thomas C. Duffy; and “VOODOO” by Daniel Bukvich.
The concert is free and open to the public, and it is strongly recommended that those who attend come with a trusted friend who can hold you tightly during certain dark and lonely passages of exceptional melancholy.
