FSU to Host State Science and Engineering Fair in March
The West Virginia State Science and Engineering Fair is being held on Saturday, March 27, at Fairmont State University.
Students in grades nine through 12 are eligible to enter. Last year, there were 54 participants from ten counties. There are thirteen categories for the entries. Projects must be in one of the following areas: Behavioral & Social Science; Botany; Computer Science; Engineering; Mathematics; Microbiology; Zoology; Biochemistry; Chemistry; Earth & Space Science; Environmental Sciences; Medicine & Health; Physics.
One Grand-Prize Winner will be selected to advance to the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in San Jose, CA on May 9 - 14, 2010. This will include airfare, ground transportation, lodging and $50.00 per diem for food for the participant and one (1) chaperon. The cost of display shipping will also be covered.
Set-up will take place on Friday, March 26, between 2 and 5 p.m. The projects will be available for public viewing between 5:30 - 7:15 p.m. on Friday, March 26. Judging will take place on Saturday, March 27, between 8:30 a.m. and noon.
