College Goal Sunday Offers Help with Federal Financial Aid Form

A special event planned for Sunday, Feb. 21, will give students and parents the opportunity to obtain free, expert help in filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

West Virginia College Goal Sunday is a volunteer, charitable program designed to help students and parents complete the FAFSA, which is a critical first step for students who plan to pay for college with the help of grants, scholarships, student employment and student loans. This is the first year the College Goal Sunday program is being offered in West Virginia.

From 1 to 5 p.m. on Feb. 21, College Goal Sunday volunteers will be offering assistance at five locations in North Central West Virginia:

  • Braxton County Higher Education Center, Braxton County High School, 200 Jerry Burton Drive, Sutton, WV 26601;
  • Davis & Elkins College, Booth Library, 100 Campus Drive, Elkins, WV 26241;
  • Fairmont State University Gaston Caperton Center, 501 West Main St., Clarksburg, WV 26301;
  • (2 to 5 p.m.) Glenville State College, Robert F. Kidd Library, 200 High St., Glenville, WV 26351; and
  • West Virginia University, Mountainlair Rhododendron Room, Maiden Ave., Morgantown, WV 226506.
