FSUCO Concert Set for April 19

The Fairmont State University Community Orchestra will feature Timothy Leasure as soloist for its concert planned for 3 p.m. Sunday, April 19, in Wallman Hall on the FSU and Pierpont Community & Technical College main campus.

Leasure is professor of trumpet at Ohio State University in Columbus and will be playing the "Trumpet Concerto" of Franz Joseph Haydn, as well as the world premier of "Sonata for Trumpet and Classical Orchestra" by the orchestra's conductor, John Ashton. The concert will also include Concert for Small Orchestra by the early 20th-century French composer Albert Roussel and the well known "Surprise" Symphony of Haydn.

The Friends of the Symphony will host a reception to allow the audience to meet the guest soloist. Admission to the program is free.
