Dana Sayre Performs Senior Recital
Fairmont State University senior theatre major Dana Sayre showcased her talents in a variety of theatre performances for her senior project on March 29 and 30.
Sayre is the daughter of Dennis and Charlene Sayre of Chesapeake, W.Va., and a graduate of Riverside High School. She has appeared in many roles during her time at Fairmont State, including Mary in "Scrooge, the Musical," Lady Lucille in "Once Upon a Mattress," Pope Joan/Louise in "Top Girls," Shylock in "The Merchant of Venice" and Marjorie Baverstock in "The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940." Sayre is also president of theatre honorary fraternity, Alpha Psi Omega.Â
Her senior project represented the culmination of her undergraduate studies in theatre and involves the compilation and performance of a combination of new work and roles performed over the course of her degree program. Her areas of performance included singing to showcase musical theatre, oral interpretation, monologues and scenes with other actors. Sayre was accompanied by actors Crystal Conner, Holly Wilson, Kimmy Higginbotham and Marc Cornes and pianist James Clegg.
