CJ Grad Students Honored
Two graduate students at Fairmont State University were recognized at the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences/Alpha Phi Sigma conference in Boston in March.
Philip Wagner of Clarksburg placed second in the Student Paper Competition (Graduate Category) and received a certificate and a check for $250. Pam Wilson of Lost Creek was elected to the office of National Vice President for Alpha Phi Sigma, the national criminal justice honor society, for a two-year term.
"Pam gave a flawless platform speech and ran a fine campaign against candidates from the University of Houston-Downtown and the University of Nevada-Reno," said Dr. Deanna Shields, Dean of the College of Liberal Arts. "Pam will now represent FSU and Alpha Phi Sigma during National Board meetings and will help to plan and direct next year's conference in San Diego."
As Wilson's adviser, Shields will also serve on the Executive Board for the next two years.
