Find Summer Classes for Your Children

May 29, 2008

For those looking for activities for their children this summer, the Community Education Program of Pierpont Community & Technical College offers a wide variety of classes.

To view a full schedule of offerings, visit www.pierpont.edu/ce and click on "Kid's College and Youth Programs."

The program has teamed up with Fairmont's Duck Soup Toy Store to offer a summer-long series of day-time, evening and weekend classes designed to inspire children's imagination and creativity. Youth drawing, Kindermusick and scrapbooking classes are also planned. A one-week youth arts camp called Imagination Vacation will run from July 28-Aug. 1 on the Pierpont C&TC and Fairmont State University main campus.

High school juniors and seniors can sign up for an ACT Test Preparation course intended to teach the reading, English, science, math and writing skills students need to do well on the ACT test. The course, which begins in June at Pierpont C&TC's Center for Workforce Education on Adams Street in Fairmont, places an emphasis on test-taking skills.

Other opportunities include sign language classes, Day at the Fort at Prickett's Fort State Park and summer athletic camps.
