Virginia Tech Remembrance Ceremony Today

Apr 16, 2008

Fairmont State University's Student Government has planned a brief ceremony at noon Wednesday, April 16, in remembrance of those who were killed at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va., one year ago.

The ceremony will take place on the lawn in front of the Education Building.

Newly elected Student Government President Kelley Bronson will give a welcome followed by remarks from Michael Belmear, Vice President for Student Affairs. Rev. Michael Waide, campus minister, will offer remarks and lead a moment of silence.

"This will be time to remember and honor those who were victims of the devastating violence last spring on the Virginia Tech campus," said Laurie Johnston, Director of Student Activities and advisor to Student Government.
