FSU President Named to ABET Board
Dr. Daniel J. Bradley has been elected to a two-year term as Treasurer for ABET, Inc.,
the accreditation body dedicated to ensuring quality in applied science, computing,
engineering and technology education.
The organization approved its 2006-2007 leadership at its spring Board of Directors
meeting in Baltimore on Saturday, March 18. Bradley and the others elected to the
ABET Board of Directors for the 2006-2007 term will be installed during the fall 2006
ABET Board of Directors meeting in Tampa, Fla.
Bradley currently chairs the ABET Board of Directors' Finance Committee and represents
the Society of Petroleum Engineers on the ABET Board of Directors. He served as an
ABET program evaluator in petroleum engineering and was a member of the Engineering
Accreditation Commission from 1994 to 1999. Bradley has served as President of Fairmont
State University since February 2001. Previously, he held a number of teaching and
administrative posts at Montana Tech of the University of Montana. He received a bachelor's
degree in biochemistry and a Ph.D. in physical chemistry from Michigan State University.
In addition, he earned a bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering from Montana Tech
and a master's degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Tulsa.
ABET, Inc., the recognized accreditor for college and university programs in applied
science, computing, engineering and technology, is a federation of 28 professional
and technical societies representing these fields. ABET currently accredits some 2,700
programs at more than 550 colleges and universities nationwide.
