Final Fling Features The Argument

May 01, 2006

The Final Fling will be held on Main Street in the Falcon Center beginning at noon Thursday, May 4. This year's featured entertainment will be local band The Argument.

Sponsored by Student Government, this is an annual event for the week before finals. Free hot dogs, soft pretzels, ice cream and lemonade will be provided starting at noon. The music will begin at 12:30 p.m. Admission is free.

A West Virginia native band, The Argument was started on the campus of West Virginia University. Compared to such notable artists as Fountains of Wayne, Weezer and Ben Folds, The Argument is a smart alt-pop quartet that combines clever, creative songwriting and infectious melodies to produce a sound full of raw wit and energy. The group has played at many college venues such as Seton Hall and Yale. They have also performed at renowned festivals including the International Pop Overthrow and the Nashville New Music Conference. This will be one of The Argument's final performances playing as its current ensemble. After this season, The Argument has mutually decided to dissolve the current band.
