WEATHER ALERT - All campuses closed on Mon. Jan. 6.

To ensure the safety of our employees during the upcoming winter storm, theUniversity (all campuses) will be closed on Monday, Jan. 6.   

The Falcon Center and campus recreation will be open today (1/5/25) from 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. The dining hall will be operating on brunch hours, with brunch from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. and dinner from 5 – 6 p.m. Tomorrow (1/6/25), campus recreation will be closed. The dining hall will be open for continental breakfast from 10 - 11 a.m., lunch from 11 a.m.  - 1 p.m., and dinner from 5 - 6 p.m.  

Additional weather updates will be communicated through our emergency alert system, social media, and the University website.

Student Employment is now online!

Students may apply online for positions available campus-wide. Student hiring managers from various areas on campus post their vacant positions, interview and select employees. The goal is to make the hiring process as seamless as possible while creating a student work experience similar to the "real world." We encourage you to visit the website regularly to check for new job postings.

How to Apply for Student Employment

  1. Go to www.fairmontstatejobs.com
  2. Select “Student Positions” on the main page
  3. Select “View Details” to view posting details under “View Results” (Job Title)
  4. To apply to the position, select “Apply for this job”
  5. Log into your account or create an account (we recommend that you use your uca and password)
  6. Complete application process

Job Alert Information

Some areas will require a large number of student hires frequently throughout the year. These areas include, but are not limited to, the Falcon Center and residence halls. If you apply but are not hired for a particular position in one of these areas, please do not let this discourage you from applying for the same position if it is posted at a later date.

We have two sources of funding for student employment; Federal College Work Study, which is a need based program and Auxiliary, which is a non-need based program.
