Teaching in Excellence Award

The Fairmont State University Professional Development School (PDS) Partnership welcomes nominations for the annual Partnership Excellence in Teaching Award. Strong candidates from our Partnership Schools will have demonstrated exceptional teaching and mentoring in one or more of the following areas:

• Teachers who are committed to working with FSU teacher candidates, Residents and student teachers (examples: hosting a pre-service teacher, Resident or student teacher, mentoring teacher candidates in technology, special services, working with students on Action Research, etc.)
• Teachers who have a commitment to and demonstrate dynamic, high-quality educational practice
• Teachers who are creative and innovative in fields such as multimedia, interdisciplinary studies, interactivity
• Teachers who are supportive of the visions and goals of the Fairmont State Partnership
• Teachers who share professional opportunities
• Teachers who exhibit evidence of leadership activities related to the school and community
• Teachers who engage in professional self- renewal

• $500 Honorarium to each recipient
• $500 Honorarium to each recipient’s school to be used to support FSU teacher education students
• Classroom plaque for each recipient

Additional Information

• All completed forms must be submitted to the Fairmont State University PDS office by the date noted by the Partnership office each year,  by mail or electronically.
• Announcement of winners will be made before the end of the semester.
• This awards program is sponsored by the Fairmont State University Professional Development School Partnership to recognize the outstanding contributions of educational leaders involved with this Partnership.
