How to be Readmitted Impact

How to be Readmitted

We understand: sometimes life gets in the way and you aren't able to complete your education.

It can happen to anyone for any number of reasons, but we don't want that to get in the way of you graduating and achieving your educational goals. That's where our readmittance program comes in.

If your education at Fairmont State has been interrupted for one semester (not including the summer term), you can reapply for admission and pick up where you left off.

Any previous holds must be removed before readmission can occur. If you attended another college or university during your absence from Fairmont State, you will be considered a transfer student and must comply with the transfer student requirements

Please note also that you cannot be readmitted to the Nursing and Aviation programs, and you will need to reapply to those programs.

How to Apply For Readmittance

  • Complete the undergraduate application for the term you would like to return to Fairmont State University, and choose "readmit" as your student type.
  • You will not need to submit your records again – your existing records will be matched to your new application.
    • You will be notified once your application review is complete with instructions on your next steps.
  • If readmitted, you will need to set up your University Credentials and schedule an appointment with your academic advisor to receive a PIN number to register for classes.

Financial Aid

Readmitted students must meet all requirements set by the United States Department of Education to receive Federal Financial Aid. Complete financial aid information can be found on the Office of Financial Aid page or by contacting the office at 304-367-4141 or  FinancialAid@FairmontState.edu.

Information on student account balances, holds, or academic suspensions may be obtained from Student Services located at the Turley Student Services Center or by contacting them at 304-367-4141.
