Happy December Falcons!

The holidays are all about celebrating with your community of people and we want you to know that you are an important part of our community. This month, President Davis reflects on his hope for Fairmont State’s community and challenges all of us to encourage and support each other.  

As a reminder, we have lots of upcoming opportunities to share and spread holiday cheer. And don’t forget to check your email for an invite to the Employee Holiday Party on Dec. 4.   

  • Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony 
    • December 4 at 12 p.m. on Falcon Center Main Street 
    • Featuring music from the collegiate singers, and falcon marching band! 
    • Holiday cookies and hot chocolate available!
  • “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer Jr.” 
    • December 6 at 7:30 p.m. in Wallman Hall Theater 
    • December 7 & 8 at 2 p.m. in Wallman Hall Theater 
    • Faculty, staff, and students can claim one (1) free ticket  
    • Additional tickets cost $15 for adults and $10 for children 5 and under.
  • West Virginia Storytelling Guild Holiday Concert 
    • December 6 at 7 p.m. in Frank and Jane Gabor West Virginia Folklife Center’s Great Hall of Cultures 
    • The 90-minute storytelling concert will feature five storytellers. Light refreshments will follow the concert, which is open to all ages.  
    • A suggested donation of $10 supports Folklife Center programming; however, donations are not required for entry. 
  • Christmas with a Falcon  
  • Support HOPE Domestic Violence Shelter  
    • Suggested items include underwear, sleepwear, slippers, jewelry, lotions, make-up and umbrellas.  
    • Gifts should be new, gift wrapped and labeled to identify size and item.  
    • Donations can be dropped off December 2-6 on Main Street in the Falcon Center.
