Fairmont State Welcome Weekend Impact

Fairmont State Welcome Weekend

We want your Fairmont State University experience to start off right. That's why your life as a Falcon will begin with Welcome Week.

Welcome Weekend is the first major program you will experience at Fairmont State. It's designed for all new students living on and off-campus or transferring to Fairmont State University, and it includes a variety of events to help you become acclimated to campus, succeed academically, and meet your fellow students. You will have the opportunity to participate in fun and memorable activities* including Convocation, Paint Nights, service opportunities, and more!

There will be some required components of the program to ensure you get the information you need to have successful start to your college journey!

Why You Should Participate in Welcome Weekend

Students outside the Falcon Center

Coming to college is a big lifestyle change for most students, and you will need some time and help to adjust. Students who attend Welcome Week are more confident when they start classes because they have had time to meet friends, know the expectations regarding academics, toured the campus, and have access to the college resources needed to feel settled.

Most of all, though, Welcome Weekend is fun (you'll have plenty of time for work later). Take Welcome Week as a chance to meet people and taste all the unforgettable experiences you'll have during your time at Fairmont State.

We can't wait to see you there!

*Registration is required for some events. Please visit the Student Life Calendar to sign up for these events when available
