Move-In/Move-Out/Break Housing Information

Residence Hall Information!

Thanksgiving 2024 Break Closing 

  • University residence halls  close  - Friday, November 22, 2024, 7 p.m.
  • University residence halls open - Sunday, December 1, 2024, 1 p.m.

The registration deadline for housing over Thanksgiving break is Monday, November 11th at 4:00 p.m. 

Winter 2024 Break Closing 

  • University residence halls  close  - Friday, December 13, 2024, 7 p.m.
  • For students graduating - Saturday, December 14, 2024, 5 p.m.
  • University residence halls open - Sunday, January 26, 2025, 1 p.m. 

  The registration deadline for housing over Winter break is Monday, December 2nd at 4:00 p.m.

Spring 2025 Break Closing 

  • University residence halls  close  - Friday, March 14, 2025, 7 p.m.
  • University residence halls open - Sunday, March 23, 2025, 1 p.m.

  The registration deadline for housing over Spring break is Monday, March 3rd at 4:00 p.m.

Summer 2025 Break Closing 

  • University residence halls  close  - Friday, May 16, 2025, 7 p.m.
  • For students graduating - Sunday, May 18, 2025, 12 p.m.

Students with academic leases who wish to extend their stay beyond the specified closing times for Thanksgiving, Winter, or Spring Break must complete the Request to Stay Form found on the right side of this page. The Office of Residential and Student Life will review each request. If approved, students will receive an email confirmation and will be charged a daily room rate to their account.

What To Do Before You Arrive On Campus

  • Spring 2025 classes begin - Monday, January 27, 2025
  • If you're a new student, sign up for a New Student Orientation session.
  • Upload your immunization records to Health Services. 
  • Read a sample of your Guide to Residential Living (PDF). You should have received it in an email. 
  • Read the residential policies in the Guide to Residential Living (PDF)
  • Contact your roommate(s) to get to know each other and to discuss what items you will share and who is bringing what. You may contact them through our Housing Portal. 
  • Review the prohibited items listed in your guide. Be sure to leave these items at home. 
  • Make sure you secure your micro-fridge with our vendor, MyFridgeRental. We encourage you to share a micro-fridge with your roommate. 
  • Check out In-Campus Marketing for fitted sheets, care packages, storage items, bedding, and more. 
  • Review your family insurance policy or purchase a renter’s insurance policy through your housing application portal to protect your belongings while on campus. The university is not responsible for personal property damage.
