WEATHER ALERT - All campuses closed on Tues. Jan. 7.

To allow for additional time for snow removal and to ensure the safety of our employees, the University (all campuses) will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 7.

Tomorrow (1/7/25), campus recreation will be closed. The dining hall will be open for continental breakfast from 10 - 11 a.m., lunch from 11 a.m.  - 1 p.m., and dinner from 5 - 6 p.m. 

In addition to essential employees, some others may have tasks that require them to work remotely. Contact your supervisor with any questions and monitor email as necessary.  

Additional weather updates will be communicated through our emergency alert system, social media, and the University website.

RESA VII SCIENCE BOWL ARCHIVES

2006 RESA VII SCIENCE BOWL

The 2006 RESA VII Science Bowl was held on Thursday, December 14th at Fairmont State University. The completion was hosted and sponsored in collaboration with RESA VII and Fairmont State University. Each year all twelve counties in RESA VII are invited to participate, with six participating this year. Students from Bridgeport High School, Fairmont Senior High School, Lewis County High School, Liberty High School, Morgantown High School, North Marion High School, Philip Barbour High School, South Harrison High School, Trinity High School, Tygarts Valley High School, and University High School participated. Students answered questions in chemistry, physics, biology, computer science, math, and astronomy. College of Science and Technology faculty volunteered as judges, time keepers, score keepers, and moderators for the event.

Bridgeport High School earned the honor of first place, Fairmont Senior High School came in second, followed by University High School earning third place. Bridgeport High School and Fairmont Senior High School will participate in the West Virginia State Science Bowl competition on February 3, 2007 at the National Energy Technology Laboratory. The top team will then compete in the U.S. Department of Energy National Science Bowl on April 26-30, 2007.
