Science After School Program Begins March 21
The Science After School enrichment program at Fairmont State, taught by elementary
preservice teachers under the direction of Dr. Deb Hemler and Jo Ellen Snider, begins
Monday, March 21.
Two course sections will be offered this semester. The Monday evening elementary
(K-6) section runs from 6-7 p.m. March 21 and 28 and April 4 and 11. The theme for
this program is "Cool Cave Science." Students will investigate cave formation and
conditions.
The Wednesday evening elementary section (K-6) runs from 6-7 p.m. March 23 and 30
and April 6 and 13. The theme for this program is "Lewis and Clark Explorations."
Students will investigate the science of the Lewis and Clark expedition and experience
StarLab.
The elementary (K-6) evening sessions will be divided into to groups: primary and
intermediate classes. The primary classes (K-2) will be taught in Room 302 and the
intermediate classes (3-6) in Room 104 of Hunt Haught Hall on the Fairmont State campus.
The cost is $25 for each section, and students may enroll in both sections. Enrollment
is on a first-come, first-served basis. An application form from a parent or guardian
