Fairmont State University Announces Associate Vice President of Facilities Management

Fairmont State University is proud to announce Dr. Joseph Han has been selected for the Associate Vice President of Facilities Management position. Han will begin his tenure at Fairmont State on Tuesday, January 18.

In the role of Associate Vice President of Facilities, Han will develop, implement and monitor a systemic plan for maintenance of all institutional facilities and grounds. He will serve as a leader who fosters a culture that highly values customer service, engagement, communication and responsiveness to faculty, staff and students, while developing and maintaining relationships at all levels of the campus and surrounding communities.

“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Han into our Falcon Family,” said Fairmont State University President, Mirta M. Martin. “He brings with him extensive experience in administration and operations, strategic planning, process improvement and staff and leadership development. I’m confident his expertise will be invaluable to Fairmont State as we continue to serve our communities and educate the next generation of citizen leaders.”

Han is an experienced leader with a demonstrated record of creating and implementing programs and initiatives to create safe, healthy and productive stakeholder-centered divisions with more than 10 years of executive level experience at higher education institutions throughout the country. Han previously served as the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at the University of Louisville, Vice President of Operations at Central Washington University, Associate Vice President of Administration and Operations at Cleveland State University and Associate Vice President of Facilities Services at Idaho State University. 

Most recently, Han served as the President and a Senior Consultant at the Nunchi Group in Cleveland, Ohio where he facilitated organizational assessment, strategic planning, executive coaching and management. In this role he also developed policies, action plans and procedures to build organizational capacity to initiate and sustain continuous growth.

Han possesses a Doctor of Education with an emphasis in Higher Education Administration from Idaho State University, in addition to a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Azusa Pacific University. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Animal Physiology from the University of California – San Diego.
