The Fairmont State University Department of Music presents its fourth annual Spring Gala on Saturday, April 30, at 7:30 p.m. in Colebank Hall. The concert includes a variety of music, from spirituals and folksongs to jazz and video game music.

Featured performers include the Collegiate Singers, Community Chorus, African Drum and Dance Ensemble and Jazz Band. In addition, outstanding student soloists from the FSU music program will perform. A public reception for all attendees precedes the concert at 7 p.m.

Also featured at the Spring Gala is guest conductor and composer Dr. Daniel J. Hall, a renowned choral composer and the Director of Choral Activities at Ohio University. The FSU Collegiate Singers and Community Chorus will perform several of his works under his direction.

“Daniel Hall writes wonderful music,” said Dr. Sam Spears, Director of Choral and Vocal Activities at FSU. “It is very exciting to have him here to collaborate with our students.”

Tickets are $10 for the general public, $5 for senior adults and FSU faculty/staff and free for all students. For tickets or more information, contact the Fairmont State Box Office at (304) 367-4240. Tickets will also be available at the door.
