WV Storytelling Guild Presents April 19th Concert at the Folklife Center

West Virginia Storytelling GuildFriday, April 19 at 7 p.m. the Frank and Jane Gabor West Virginia Folklife Center will present the West Virginia Storytelling Guild’s spring concert, titled “All Things New.”

The show is open to the public with a suggested (but not required) donation of $10 for community members. All donations support the Folklife Center’s programming and activities.

The featured tellers for the concert are James Froemel, David Brauer, Teri Lott, Celia Douglass (the Guild's youngest member), and Francene Kirk. The event will be emceed by Judi Tarowsky. “The twice-yearly storytelling concerts are some of our most popular and lively events,” says Folklife Center Director Lydia Warren, PhD. “They always put on great shows, and we are thrilled to continue to partner with the Guild. These stories will all have a spring theme to welcome in the new season!”

According to Francine Kirk, who will be telling at the Concert, “The WV Storytelling Guild is a wonderful partner for the Frank and Jane Gabor West Virginia Folklife Center as both organizations work diligently to nurture story and storytellers.”

The West Virginia Storytelling Guild has held performances, workshops, and gatherings for 28 years. Members not only entertain audiences, they maintain traditional West Virginia tales, create new stories, and teach burgeoning storytellers of all ages. More information can be found
