Fairmont State continues to provide abundant scholarship opportunities with SOAR events
Fairmont State University continues its commitment to accessible education by once again hosting the annual SOAR Award Scholarship events. These events will be taking place periodically from November until February throughout the state of West Virginia, with one event taking place in Pennsylvania.
The SOAR Awards provide those who attend with a $500 per academic year scholarship for up to four academic years, totaling $2,000. To qualify for the scholarship students must be incoming first-time freshmen who plan to attend Fairmont State, and attend one of eight SOAR scholarship events.
“We are extremely happy that we can continue to offer the SOAR Scholarship to incoming Falcons,” said Interim Vice President of Student Success Alicia Kalka. “Fairmont State is committed to making higher education affordable and accessible and we pride ourselves on being one of the most affordable schools within West Virginia for both in and out-of-state students.”

“I believe in the value of a college education, and being able to make that more affordable for our students is important to me as the President of Fairmont State,” said Dr. Mike Davis. “With these scholarship events, we hope to alleviate some of the financial responsibility students have so that they can focus more on succeeding and achieving their goals.”
Prospective students planning to attend a session should apply beforehand. For more information regarding event times and locations or to register, visit the SOAR Award Scholarship page.
