Fairmont State to host campus-wide open house during Maroon & White Day
Fairmont State University prepares to welcome prospective students to campus for the Fall 2023 Maroon & White Day on Saturday, October 14. Maroon & White Day is a campus-wide event designed to thoroughly introduce students and their families to the university’s offerings.
Fairmont State hosts Maroon & White Day every fall and spring where traditional and non-traditional students and their families are invited to explore academic programs, tour campus, meet with financial aid counselors, apply for housing and more.
“We cannot wait to meet with future Falcons and their families on October 14 and show them all Fairmont State has to offer,” said Associate Vice President of Enrollment and Student Life Alicia Kalka. “There are so many top-notch academic programs, fun student organizations and important resources here on campus. Maroon and White Day allows students to see Fairmont State through a broader lens.”
Check-in for the event begins at 9 a.m. in the Falcon Center. Guests can enjoy breakfast while waiting for the welcome message and introduction of the academic deans at 10 a.m. in Falcon Center Gym 1. Following introductions, Fairmont State University President Mike Davis will provide the keynote address. “Falcon Q&A”, a parent and student discussion panel, will occur immediately following the keynote at 11 a.m.
Maroon & White attendees will have the opportunity to participate in various activities throughout the day including an Academic and Student Organization Fair and campus tours. Individual information sessions will also be held throughout the day in the Falcon Center conference rooms. These sessions will highlight topics such as academic programs, student organizations, financial aid, housing and more. Students will be able to win prizes throughout the day by participating in Maroon & White Day activities.
“Maroon and White Day is such a great way to introduce incoming students to Fairmont State,” said Director of Admissions Summer Boggess, “This is one of the largest events we host on campus and we make sure those who attend get the most out of the day. Whether a student wants to tour a residence hall, meet with a financial aid counselor or just shop around the campus book store--we make sure that they have any opportunity they need.”
You can learn more and register online. Pre-registration is encouraged, but accommodations will be made for walk-ins.
For those unable to attend the fall Maroon & White Day, other campus visitation options are available online.
