Prospective Students Invited to Fairmont State’s Maroon & White Day
This Saturday, October 16, Fairmont State University will host Maroon & White Day, an on-campus open house that enables prospective students to explore the institution’s offerings.
“We are thrilled to host future Falcons and their families once again at our Maroon & White Day,” said Fairmont State University President, Mirta M. Martin. “Meeting face-to-face with students and their loved ones allows us to do what we do best, help them take the first, important steps toward achieving their dreams. Our fall visitation day provides answers to questions they might have, like how to pay for school and what to major in. They’ll get the inside information firsthand from the people who know best – our faculty, staff and students.”
Both traditional and non-traditional students are invited to attend, and representatives from the University’s five colleges, financial aid, housing and residence life and various student organizations will be available to answer questions. Students will also enjoy lunch in the Falcon Center Dining Hall and participate in a campus tour.
“The goal of Maroon & White Day is to provide a springboard for students, parents and others to learn more about their future here at Fairmont State,” said Fairmont State University Senior Director of Recruitment, Chris Sharps.
The University’s fall visitation day will begin with an opening session at 10 a.m. in the Feaster Center. Based on their areas of academic interest, prospective students will then be divided into six groups: Academic Pathways, College of Liberal Arts, College of Science and Technology, College of Business and Aviation, College of Education, Health and Human Performance or the College of Nursing.
Registration will close at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 14, but walk-ins will also be accommodated. To learn more, visit www.fairmontstate.edu/MWVisitation. For those unable to attend on October 16, other visitation options are available at www.fairmontstate.edu/visit.
