Fairmont State University has announced that Dr. Richard Harvey has been named Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs.
“I am grateful to Dr. Harvey for accepting to serve at this important time in the history of Fairmont State,” said President Mirta Martin.

“I am extremely honored to serve as Provost at Fairmont State University. It is a pleasure to work with President Martin and I look forward to working with her to continue the excellence that Fairmont State University provides to the students in West Virginia.
Dr. Richard Harvey has served the university for over 30 years. He is a faculty member in the School of Business where he taught Finance and Business Law. He is a member of the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) Peer Review Corps. He travels regularly throughout the nineteen state HLC region to participate in institutional reviews. He is engaged in regional economic development and serves on the Board of the Harrison County Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Harvey is a life-long resident of north-central WV and resides in Morgantown with his wife Beth, and children Cearah and Isaiah Harvey.
