Edward Jones locations donate to The Nest
As part of Fairmont State’s 2018 Homecoming activities, Fairmont branches of Edward Jones worked together to collect more than 500 items for Fairmont State’s Food Pantry, The Nest. Tom Kliethermes and Robert Kozul spearheaded the project through Edward Jones. In addition to the food items, $100 in cash donations were received.
"All data suggests, that students who are hungry cannot perform,” President Martin said. “Being able to offer our students the convenience of The Nest and guaranteeing that they have access to the food they need can improve their performance and aid in their success.”
The Nest, a food bank open for all students, is located on the second floor of the Falcon Center. Items are available at no cost to the students with a student ID. Generous donations, such as the “Falcons Helping Falcons” food drive, help the The Nest serve its mission of making sure no students go hungry, regardless of personal or economic situations.
“We cannot combat student hunger alone—it takes a village. We are so appreciative of the partnerships we have built within the community and especially want to extend our gratitude to Edward Jones for hosting the drive in their office locations.”
Edward Jones is a privately-owned investments company with five locations in Fairmont.
“Aside from specializing in financial advising, they truly value the communities where they work. At any chance they get, they are committed to giving back and often invest their time and talent.”
