Pamela Stephens named to international leadership position

NACADA, the global community for academic advising, announced yesterday that Pamela Stephens is one of only ten internationally who has been selected to serve as a mentor for the 2018-2020 class of emerging leaders. Stephens serves Fairmont State University as the director of the center for educational support programs and the coordinator for the RBA degree program.

The purpose of the Emerging Leaders Program is to provide an intentional and focused mentoring experience to those who are interested in becoming more involved in the association.

“NACADA is committed to diversity in our membership and our leadership as well as ensuring sustainability of our association’s leadership in the future,” said Charlie Nutt, NACADA executive director. “Pamela was selected because of her interest in the program as well as her involvement in and commitment to the association.”

The Emerging Leaders Program is a two-year program in which Stephens will work closely with an emerging leader in our association and help them gain skills, experiences, and knowledge needed to move into a leadership position in the association.  The two will develop a plan for the emerging leader’s involvement, which will be based on the emerging leader’s interests, expertise, and goals for the future.  

“We are extremely proud of Pamela and know that NACADA, Fairmont State University, and Pamela will benefit from her involvement in this program,” said Nutt.
